About Our Organization

The Norwich Business and Professional Women’s Organization voted to affiliate with the New York State Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Organizations and with the National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Organizations, Inc. on February 6, 1934, but the Charter dinner was held on April 10, 1934. The Business and Professional Women’s Club originally formed in May of 1927 with 18 members.

In 2009 BPW NYS adopted the new name of New York State Women, Inc. while re-affirming its role as an advocate for working women around the state. The local organization became the Norwich Chapter of New York State Women, Inc.
